Types of dental implants
Dental implants are most commonly divided into two groups based on the material: dental implants of titanium and titanium alloys, and dental implants made of zirconia ceramics. As the former ones have been present in dentistry for decades, ceramic implants are a novelty. At Videntis Dental Center, we have both types of implants.
The reason why we use these materials in manufacture of dental implants is their biocompatibility and strength. Today, the success factor of dental implants is 95% to 98%. We only use the best quality dental implants

Special zygomatic implants in Videntis
One of the biggest obstacles to implant placement is the lack of bone. In cases where the tooth is missing for several years, a natural process of thinning or bone resorption occurs at the place where the tooth was once standing. In this way the foundation for implant insertion is lost.
Although this problem is successfully solved by a special bone rebuilding or sinus lifting it also means longer recovery time. In addition, sometimes the bone retreats so much or is otherwise lost, that it is impossible to restore it. A solution of this is a special type of implant installed in the cheek bones. These are called “zygomatic implants”, after the Latin name for cheek bone “os zygomaticum” or “zygoma”.
It is a relatively new concept developed by Professor Per-Ingvar Brånemark (1929 – 2014), a Swedish scientist and surgeon. Doctor Brånemark devoted most of his scientific work to the problem of bone and implant coalescence, or osseointegration. Zygomatic implants have been used in the last 20 years, and are sometimes the only alternative to people who want to solve missing teeth problem, but have completely lost the bone for implant insertion.

Adaptability of implant solutions
The number and type of implant solutions required to address the specific problem of tooth decay depends on many factors. In case of a missing tooth, it is generally enough to fit one implant and dental crown. However, in the case of lack of several teeth, we often incorporate a dental bridge with multiple dental crowns or a complete prosthetic solution that replaces all teeth in one jaw.
Implant solutions for the whole jaw are classified into fixed and semi-fixed solutions. Fixed solutions include All-on-4 and All-on-6 total dentures, where the entire jaw relies on 4 or 6 implants. Semi-fixed implantable implant solutions for the entire jaw are also based on multiple implants, but unlike fixed implants, they can be removed and returned to the site. Recommendations to follow immediately after installing dental implants:
- Avoid heavy physical work
- Avoid intense sports activities
- Avoid strong sunlight and high temperatures
- Do not consume larger amounts of coffee, alcohol or cigarettes
Installation of dental implants by phases
In Videntis Dental Center we take into account the fact that every patient is individual. Therefore, we create a separate implantation plan for each patient, and inform the patient about the cost, course and duration of their implant therapy.
Depending on the number of implants, type of implanting solution and bone condition, implant therapy typically lasts from 4 to 8 months. However, you will not spend that time without teeth. If the bone condition allows, immediately after implantation you will receive a temporary prosthetic solution which you will use you until the permanent one is ready.
Implant insertion can be divided into three main phases:
1. Implant planning, implant placement and provisional solution placement,
2. Implantation coalescense or osseointegration,
3. Setting a permanent prostodontic solution.

Implanting plan
Successful installation of dental implants begins with a good implantation plan. It is based on expert examination and analysis of precise x-ray of the jaw. The implantologist will listen to the patient’s wishes, and on the basis of those interviews, review of the condition and the analysis of the jaw image and propose implanting solution type. The patient will also get an offer with the proposed therapy plan.
The implantation plan and expert consultation are free of charge for the patient, and all costs of implant therapy are included, from the first arrival for implant placement to setting of the permanent prosthetic solution and your new smile.
Implant installation
Installation of implants today is an oral surgery simpler than tooth extraction. It is performed under local anesthesia and is completely painless. Placement of an implant usually does not take more than 15 minutes.
Immediately after implant placement:
- Do not smoke on the day of surgery or 3 days after surgery
- Do not engage in heavy physical tasks for at least 10 days
- Do not eat before anesthesia wears off
- Eat only soft and liquid food
- Do not chew in the implant area
- Maintain quality dental hygiene of other teeth
- After each meal, rinse the mouth with warm water
- Do not use an electric toothbrush at the implant site
- Do not touch the implant with fingers or dental floss
Setting of provisional prosthetics
After the implantation, and if we have established the quality of the bone in the planning stage, we set a temporary prosthetic solution. In case of a tooth absence, we will place a temporary tooth crown, and in case of lacking several more teeth, we will set a temporary dental bridge or even a complete temporary prosthesis for the whole jaw.

Patients who come to us for placement of dental implants generally want to solve the problem of missing one or more teeth. Lack of teeth is not just an esthetic problem but also a serious functional problem for the whole jaw.
The missing teeth are usually substituted in two ways: prosthodontics or dental implants. We can immediately say that dental implant is a more durable and quality solution.
