Traditional removable devices have limited efficacy, especially in older patients and in case of very inclined and rotated teeth. That is why mobile device are usually worn during the jaw development to properly direct them.

How long does orthodontic therapy last?
Duration of orthodontic therapy is individually. It usually lasts 18 to 20 months, depending on the type of braces and the anomaly treated. After the end of therapy with a fixed or mobile orthodontic device it is necessary to wear a retainer. They serve to keep the teeth in the correct position. There are removable and fixed retainers. The retainer should be worn as long as the whole jaw and face do not adapt to the new tooth position, and sometimes even permanently, which is individual.
